organizational responsibilities and aspirations

Amelia Psmythe Seger in a bright orange jacket - Amelia is an Executive coach specializing in leadership development

At the end of our year-long engagement, a systemic executive coaching client felt inspired to write a report for their organization describing key outcomes and encouraging others to work with me.

Their take-aways included...

  • Increased focus on strategic priorities

  • Fostering a culture of recognition and mutual support

  • Clarifying roles and responsibilities

  • Strengthening development practices

  • Improving meeting effectiveness

  • Preparing for and supporting strategic change

  • Streamlining internal processes

  • Enhancing project management

Her final thoughts were: "Amelia helped me better understand my role within the system and how to lead from a place of clarity, resilience, and strategic awareness. The coaching experience was a highlight of my year and has directly contributed to stronger team performance and better-aligned structures to support our mission."

What is Systemic Executive Coaching?

Executive Coaching is an excellent option for executives and movement builders who are
looking for a safe forum to explore hang-ups, experience accountability, identify
opportunities, and create momentum on their path to conscious leadership.

Systemic Executive Coaching explores and develops the following arenas:

  • Supports and grows personal and professional competencies while meeting organizational responsibilities and aspirations.

  • Explores and honors the history of the individual leader, as well as the history of the organization.

  • Courageously acknowledges the current realities (including the weak or difficult parts) to allow for integration and meaningful use of feedback.

  • Releases limiting patterns by including everything that has happened and all the parts that belong, so that energy is no longer diverted in denying or resisting what is.

  • Nurtures systemic awareness, including building and leveraging skills in multiple intelligences (mental, emotional, and somatic).

  • Teaches system mapping and related principles, so that leaders become more adept at anticipating and meeting the upcoming future in many new ways.

  • Strengthens sense of purpose, personal resilience, and capacity for depth.

  • Evolves the leadership approach, so that the parts of the organization they touch are met with steady, effective interventions.

  • Advances organizational structure and culture through the leader’s resilience

Founder & CEO

Field: Tech Start Up

As a new nonprofit tech founder, I have found myself trying to build the organization to fulfill a critical mission without any background in the nonprofit model. Amelia stepped forward to support me at a time of significant need and has been invaluable. Her executive coaching is grounding, with the exact specific guidance I have most needed at pivotal times. She's helped me to navigate pitfalls that could have derailed us early on and she's led me to think about the nonprofit model with insight it would have taken me much longer to develop otherwise, giving me a significant advantage. She is my most trusted advisor and coach. She has deep mastery of nonprofit systems and is an executive leader's advocate

FAQs – Systemic Executive Coaching

How is Systemic Executive Coaching different than other approaches?

I will hold your work responsibilities as seriously as you do, while always remembering the larger systems of which you are a part. At the executive level, the pressure you feel and opportunities you hold are significant. Even when you’ve built your capacity to navigate that complexity, thought partnership, challenge, and accountability are invaluable. Systemic executive coaching is unique in weaving the principles of human systems throughout the engagement. You will uplevel your skills to navigate difference with clarity, better understand how and when to lead from the front versus from the side, and make impactful decisions with greater ease. Executives with systemic and embodied training know how to lead at the live edge of emergence.

What do you bring to the table as an Executive Coach?

I’ve been in the hot seat, I know what it feels like, and what it costs. I learned and integrated the systemic principles of human systems into my leadership style and decision-making frameworks, and I know I would not have been as effective otherwise. At every threshold of organizational growth, the wise executive confronts and works through their own, and with skilled support. I’m not afraid of your shadow, or my own. Whatever hang-ups are echoing for you today, we can look at them together with compassion and courage. This is the way forward.

What are Constellations, and why are they part of a coaching engagement with you?

Systemic Constellations are an embodied method to increase the flow of love and insight within any given system. Constellations are a way to include your somatic intelligence in your leadership acumen. Constellations can be used to explore any system from a new perspective. Even in executive coaching, we often look at personal and family systems as a way to facilitate breakthroughs to new capacity. We will usually explore the organizational system as well.

What will Systemic Executive Coaching give me on a practical level?

My executive coaching clients are best served when we move from systemic work to practical application. In some sessions, we might spend part of the time exploring an issue, feeling, sensation, or block to better understand what is emerging for you on a personal level. Then we might pivot to a practical plan, asking, “given what you now know, how will you proceed?” In this way, systemic executive coaching accompanies you in the process of designing a roadmap for your immediate next step. This process often leads to an organizational consulting contract to work with additional parts of the leadership team and/or Board of Directors.

What sectors have you worked with?

I've worked with sectors as diverse as tech, legacy farming, and affordable housing. The tools, techniques, and applicability of systemic principles apply wherever human beings are building things together. While context always matters, how we work ends up being as or even more important than what we’re doing. Please contact me for a no-cost discovery call to explore how I can accompany you and your industry.
